Motorola Edge 50 Neo:

Unboxing

Motorola Edge 50 Neo PANTONE Poinciana

The phone comes in light-yellow themed box with the phone’s name written at the center of the box in bold.

Inside the black box, you get the shiny Motorola Edge 50 Neo 5G device, SIM card tool, documentation, good quality hard bumper case (not a TPU case), 68W type-C TurboCharge charging brick with 1m type-C to type-C charging cable. So, thumbs up and excellent for that, Moto.

Design and dimensions

Motorola has struck a balance between aesthetics and durability. At 154.1 x 71.2 x 8.1 mm, the Edge 50 Neo is slim and compact and it is comfortable for one-handed use.

It has a 6.4-inch screen that makes it quite manageable compared to many bulkier flagships on the market.

The phone has flat and boxy design, not a curvy one. But the edges are very slightly curved for better grip and handling.

Build quality

The Gorilla Glass 3 on the front screen is paired with either a plastic frame or an eco-leather back depending on the model.

The phone is IP68 dust and water-resistant for 30 minutes at 1 meter water depth.

The main camera has metal to protect the camera from the edges.

It is made from high-grade plastic that provides an impressive feel in the hand and the back is both exceptional and glossy. The body has a thickness of 8.1mm.

The SIM card tray is dual SIM type meaning that you can use 2 SIM cards only. SD card is not supported.

Colors

Motorola Edge 50 Neo Colour options

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo comes in four color options: PANTONE Nautical Blue, PANTONE Grisaille, PANTONE Latte and PANTONE Poinciana.

I liked PANTONE Nautical Blue as it is really gorgeous.

It attracts no fingerprints and touches on the back.

Overall, very attractive design and premium in-hand feel.

In-hand feel

The phone offers a fantastic feel in hand as it is both lightweight and ergonomically designed. The eco-leather variant is especially notable for its distinctive textured sensation.

Ports and buttons

At the top, you have a noise-cancelling microphone. There is no dedicated infrared sensor or IR blaster, unfortunately.

At the bottom, there is a microphone, USB type-C slot, speaker grill and SIM card slot. The 3.5mm jack is not given there.

On the right-hand side, it has a dedicated power on-off button and a volume up and down button. It has in-display fingerprint sensor.

On the left-hand side, you can see there is nothing.

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo device is packed inside 8.1mm thick body.

But friend, tell me what you think about the Infinix Zero 40 5G‘s ports and buttons? Comment at the end of the article! Below, you will see a comparison too between these two.

Weight

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo weight weighs 171 grams which is on the lighter side. It doesn’t feel any heavier one might expect. Interesting! Hmm.

Battery

Motorola Edge 50 Neo is powered by 4,310mAh battery. It should easily get you through a full day of regular use which is on par with what you’d expect from a mid-range device. The battery may offer you 4 year of same usage backup.

Charging

The phone does support 68W fast charge. Both adapter and cable are provided by Motorola company.

Display

Motorola Edge 50 Neo Display 1.5K resolution

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo features an impressively bright 6.4-inch FHD+ 1.5K resolution LTPO pOLED display offering a dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness level of 3,000 nits.

The display does support 120Hz refresh rate with 99.9% working efficiency rate. It’s the modern age required refresh rate display phone under रू45,000 budget in Nepal or ₹25,000 budget in India.

In any sunlight, whether direct or harsh, visibility should not be a problem as the display’s peak brightness of 3,000 nits ensures it remains clear and visible. The HDR peak brightness is 2,800 nits.

The display has 1256 x 2760 pixels resolution with 474 ppi display density.

I played HRD10+ videos on YouTube and Netflix, it worked exceptionally excellent.

The display features slim bezels and a minimal chin lending it a contemporary and streamlined appearance akin to other smartphones.

Videos are rendered in crisp and vivid quality. The video viewing angles are also impressive remaining sharp at every corner. Overall, the display’s quality is quite impressive.

Further, it supports a Touch Sampling Rate (TSR) of up to 360Hz. The video viewing angles are also impressive remaining sharp at every corner.

Front camera (selfie camera)

The selfie camera on the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is equally impressive. It features a 32 MP wide lens with an f/2.4 aperture and 0.7µm pixel size providing sharp and detailed selfies even in lower lighting conditions.

This high-resolution front-facing camera ensures that your selfies look vibrant and clear making it great for social media posts or video calls.

It also supports 1080p video at 30/60/120fps providing flexible recording options for various situations whether you’re vlogging or on a video call.

The front camera also supports HDR which enhances the dynamic range of your photos by balancing the exposure between bright and dark areas ensuring that your selfies look well-lit even in challenging lighting conditions.

The selfie camera captures sharp images. The photos are ready for social media which allow you to snap and upload instantly without the need for editing.

Camera features

Both the rear and front cameras come with a range of additional features like HDR, panorama mode and LED flash for the rear camera.

These options provide versatility and customization ensuring that users can get creative with their photography and videography. Whether you’re capturing stunning landscapes, detailed close-ups or high-quality selfies, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo’s camera system is designed to deliver a top-tier imaging experience.

The three rear cameras are a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700 OIS wide lens, a 13MP ultrawide lens and 10MP 3X telephoto telephoto lens.
